QUESTION 10

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF GIVING YOUR FIRSTFRUIT?

ANSWER

1. You'll enjoy Financial Security:

‘‘For if the first fruit is holy the whole lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches" Romans 11:16.

The verse says if you set the first aside to God, God will set the rest aside as holy to Him. As such, it belongs to him, therefore He will watch over it and nobody can touch it. He will watch over your finances for you, and nobody can touch it.

2. You'll have Abundant Supply:

Proverbs 3:9-10 "Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine."

When you give your firstfruit at the beginning of the year you are sure of walking in abundance supply throughout the year.

3. You'll live and function in God's Blessing (The anointing to prosper):

Ezekiel‬ ‭44‬:‭30 "And the first of all the firstfruits of all things, and every oblation of all, of every sort of your oblations, shall be the priest's: ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the blessing to rest in thine house."

This means as you bring your Firstfruit to the house of God, God's Spirit will come upon it as the man of God pronounce the blessing upon you, and that will cause you to walk, and function in God's blessings.

4. By giving your firstfruits, you release the anointing of God upon your life:

The anointing is the power of God to do or perform anything. It is the power to effect changes.

Read Proverbs 3:9-10 KJV.

The Bible says thy presses shall burst out with new wine. New wine symbolises the anointing ( Proverbs 3:9-10). God is delighted in our obedience to His word; for it is better to obey than to sacrifice, I Samuel 15: 22.

5. It will cause you to Abound in Grace:

Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Grace is the divine ability of God that causes you to live beyond limitations.

As we pay our Firstfruits ALL GRACE will abound towards us to live beyond any kind of human limitations, in our ministry, academics, finances, health, business, family, etc.

2 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭6-11‬ AMP "Remember this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously that blessings may come to someone will also reap generously and with blessings. Let each one give as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves, He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without, a cheerful, joyous, "prompt to do it" giver, whose heart is in his giving. And God is able to make all grace, every favor and earthly blessing come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient, possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation. As it is written, He the benevolent person scatters abroad; He gives to the poor; His deeds of justice and goodness and kindness and benevolence will go on and endure forever! And God Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your resources for sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity. Thus you will be enriched in all things and in every way, so that you can be generous, and your generosity as it is administered by us will bring forth thanksgiving to God."
