"While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease"- (Genesis 8:22).
As long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest will not cease. Therefore, a farmer can expect to reap a harvest after he has sown his seeds into the ground.
Every good farmer knows that just one seed is able to produce a bountiful harvest; this is why the task of sowing isn’t drudgery to him at all. He sows his seeds with confidence and great expectations as he already has the picture of his harvest in his mind. The seed makes contact with divine energy which causes it to produce and bring forth a harvest.
The Lord Jesus likened this phenomenon to the Kingdom of God: “...the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come” (Mark 4:26-29).
So you see, the farmer wouldn’t have to ask, “How will the harvest come?” He just goes ahead and sows his seeds in the right ground knowing there will be a harvest. He’s confident that the seed will set the divine law of harvest in motion. This same law applies to your giving. It’s important that you see your giving as sowing a seed. Just as the farmer does, you must see it producing a multiplied harvest; you must keep the picture of the harvest in your mind.
Understand that every time you give, you set an irrevocable law in motion. According to the law, whatever you give will return to you in good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over (Luke 6:38). That’s a harvest! Therefore, when you give, don’t let it go! Continually declare God’s Word and keep your eyes fixed on your harvest in spite of any contrary circumstance. Remain expectant and surely your expectation shall not be cut off.
